Sensors and sensor networks for smart structures – Presented by Rob Jansen, TNO
An overview will be presented for two types of structures, an offshore wind turbine and a bridge, where innovative sensors are installed. The presentation will discuss what type of sensors are used, how they are connected to the sensor network (or sensor system) and what is done with the data being generated. Practical IoT: focus on components – the systems will follow – Presented by Simon Jagers, Semiotic Labs BV, at the Intelligent Sensor Networks Conference, which will take place on January 18, 2019, at Rotterdam AHOY, The Netherlands.
What drives you?
Our mission is to eliminate unplanned downtime. In order to do that, we work with cutting edge technology. It’s simply awesome to apply algorithms in the physical world and see concrete results come alive.
What emerging technologies/trends do you see as having the greatest potential in the short and long run?
Long run: A.I., A.I., A.I., It really is changing the world. Quantum computing as #4. Cold fusion #5. Short run: AI, improved wireless communication, improved battery life.
What kind of impact do you expect them to have?
I believe technology will aide humans in bringing out the best in ourselves and each other. It will eliminate tradeoffs and scarcity. Continue reading “Practical IoT: focus on components – the systems will follow – Presented by Simon Jagers, Semiotic Labs BV”
