Sensors and sensor networks for smart structures – Presented by Rob Jansen, TNO
An overview will be presented for two types of structures, an offshore wind turbine and a bridge, where innovative sensors are installed. The presentation will discuss what type of sensors are used, how they are connected to the sensor network (or sensor system) and what is done with the data being generated.
What drives you?
The development of innovative sensors which are the eyes and ears of a smart structure or machine
About Rob Jansen
Rob Jansen received his bachelor degree in process technology and physics and is active within TNO as a project manager for 12 years. Project he leads are predominantly based on the development on innovative sensors with the overall aim to provide quantitative information covering large area.
TNO connects people and knowledge to create innovations that boost the competitive strength of industry and the well-being of society in a sustainable way. This is our mission and it is what drives us, the over 3,200 professionals at TNO, in our work every day. We work in collaboration with partners and focus on nine domains.
About Intelligent Sensor Networks Conference
Sensors and sensor networks are becoming more and more essential for industrial or business use. Real time information from ‘the real world’ to support decision making and control of vital processes will be an integral part of business processes.
The 9th edition of the international Intelligent Sensor Networks Conference will focus on the following areas:
- Industrial Internet / Smart industry / Industry 4.0 (Industrial process control)
- Smart infrastructure (from buildings to bridges)
